ENCHANCING LIFE THROUGH BETTER HEARING

  • How common is hearing loss?

Hearing loss is more common than many people realize. In fact, it affects approximately 15% of the global population. In the United States alone, around 48 million people experience some degree of hearing loss. Approximately 1 in 3 adults aged 65 and older experience some degree of hearing loss. Therefore, It’s a good idea to have a hearing test every 1-2 years, especially if you’re over 50.

  • What causes hearing loss?

Hearing loss can be caused by various factors, including: Aging (Presbycusis), Noise Exposure, Ear Infections, Genetics, Medications, Trauma or Injury and/ or Health Conditions.

It can range from mild to severe and can affect one or both ears.

  • Red Flags of a hearing loss?

    Common symptoms include:

    • Difficulty hearing conversations or understanding speech, especially in noisy environments.
    • Turning up the volume on the TV or radio.
    • Ringing in the ears (tinnitus).
    • Feeling like people are mumbling or speaking too softly.

If hearing loss has been previously confirmed or experiencing significant challenges with understanding speech and clarity, the next step is to discuss treatment options as soon as possible.

Choosing the right hearing aids is an important decision that we will discuss during the phone consult. Here are key factors to consider: Degree and Type of Hearing loss, Style and Comfort, Hearing aid features, Lifestyle Needs and Budget.

Repair Warranty

The warranty typically lasts 3 years depending on the brand and model. The warranty covers repairs, defects, and sometimes lost or damaged devices.

Trail Period

Our trial period runs for 45 days. During the trial period, if you're not completely satisfied, you can return the hearing aids for a refund, minus a restocking fee.

Cost of Aids

The cost of hearing aids can vary depending on the brand, style, and technology. Prices typically range from $1,000 to $3,000 per device. You can inquire about payment plans to help make hearing aids more affordable.

Check-ups

It’s recommended to have your hearing aids professionally checked every 6 to 12 months. During these check-ups, your audiologist will inspect the devices, clean them thoroughly, perform any necessary adjustments, and check the performance to ensure they’re working optimally.

What's the difference between an amplifier and hearing aids?

Hearing amplifiers and hearing aids both make sounds louder but serve different purposes and work in distinct ways.

Hearing Amplifiers: These over-the-counter devices amplify all sounds equally, including background noise, and are generally used by people with mild hearing difficulties. They are affordable, but not tailored to individual hearing needs and are not regulated by health authorities.

Hearing Aids: These are medical devices prescribed by professionals and customized to address specific types of hearing loss. They enhance speech clarity, reduce background noise, and offer advanced features like Bluetooth. Hearing aids are regulated by the FDA to ensure safety and effectiveness.
